The Starfish Story (and “Treats” below)
A young girl was walking along a beach upon which thousands of starfish had been washed up during a terrible storm. When she came to each starfish, she would pick it up, and throw it back into the ocean. People watched her with amusement.
She had been doing this for some time when a man approached her and said, “Little girl, why are you doing this? Look at this beach! You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!”
The girl seemed crushed, suddenly deflated. But after a few moments, she bent down, picked up another starfish, and hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!”
The old man looked at the girl inquisitively and thought about what she had done and said. Inspired, he joined the little girl in throwing starfish back into the sea. Soon, others joined, and all the starfish were saved.

Our Passion
We are passionate about allowing girls to express themselves with positive encouragement and without interruption. We love watching groups of girls get closer and share heart-shaping truths with one another.
We are motivated to create a space for women and girls to express themselves however they need to, immediately upon entering our front door. We make sure to have all of our ducks in a row so that we can focus on sending love their way each time we are together.
At Abigail’s, girls are supported and loved for being themselves. We break down the walls built by the outside world that cause girls to often feel out of place, lost, and insufficient. Through parental support at home and continued life skills teachings at Abigail’s- we see our girls grow into confident young women who exude a divine faith in themselves and a sincere care for others.
Our Starfish are steadfast in their faith in God and, through our proven teachings, are able to apply this faith in their everyday lives. Give your daughter the love and attention she needs in her journey by encouraging her to become a lifelong Starfish.
As family dynamics, life and schools may change, we are a constant support system for your girls and are able to give them the tools they need at every crossroads. Join our incredible community of daughters and parents that continues to grow & shine in Louisville for over 9 years!
Girls enjoy a homelike environment complete with baking, the house dog Tanner, and chatting with friends both new and old- as only a group of girls can! We enjoy incorporating creative projects in all we do, there’s always something new to see and experience at Abigail Academy!
